The scholarship Erasmus and other mobility programs can be an important part of the solution (the strong youth unemployment)," because, among other advantages, helps develop language skills, adaptability and knowledge. There is a strong "link" between the success of the Erasmus program and other similar European initiatives and increased mobility within the European Union, "because once young people begin to move, continue to do so during their working life . While aid has ensured that the mobility of students is one of the best tools to combat unemployment and support growth.

Among the improvements the Education and Youth Commission has defended launch "intensive language courses" to encourage young people to move and to correcting the "imbalance" between supply and demand in the labor market across Europe.  During 2009/2010 Spain, with over 30,000 young people, has overtaken France as a country that sends more students to another European country to benefit from a scholarship or work, followed by Germany, Italy and Poland.

In terms of numbers of universities in the 2009-10 academic year, seven Spanish have been present in the ranking of the ten most European Erasmus students receive. The University of Granada, with 1,858 students, was the most European university students received, followed by Valencia and University Complutense of Madrid. The students who come to Spain for six months or a whole year enjoy their time learning Spanish and understand Spanish culture better. It adds extra value on Erasmus program to help the students build self confidence and create intercultural relations.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Erasmus Brussels has appointed 'ambassadors' of academic institutions and former grantees to promote the "benefits and changes" that this project has had on their lives and careers.
