World Cup on display in Madrid 22-23 July

by Kimberly

Just in case you live in a box, let me first start off by reminding you that Spain won the FIFA World Cup of soccer in South Africa on the 11th of July 2010. It marked the first time in history that the Spanish selection made it to the semi finals and of course the first time they won as well.

So, this dream has FINALLY been achieved and here is your chance to get a small "piece" of its reality - I mean, the first time for most people that we can see something in real life rather than on T.V.

The world cup, in all of its beautiful gold glory, will be on display in the building: "Real Casa de Correos" in Madrid's "Puerta del Sol" from the 22nd to the 23rd of July.

Now you have your chance, and yes, you can take pictures!

If you miss this opportunity you do not have to panic because the World Cup will later go on tour to different Spanish Provinces.

The regional government of Madrid also bestowed their highest honor, a gold medal from the community of Madrid, to the Spanish selection for their victory in the World Cup. The city also granted Vicente del Bosque, the team's coach from Salamanca, the "Grand Cross from May 2nd" for his sports carreer and strong ties to Madrid.
