10 romantic getaways to say "I love you" in Spanish

Are you looking to be romantic and say “I love you” the Spanish way whilst spending time with your partner in Spain? Recite a Spanish love poem in the late afternoon sun, enjoy a walk on the beach or listen to a chilled out Spanish love song. This way you can practise how to say “I love you” like a true Spaniard and prove your love to your partner. Escape to a romantic getaway with them. We have a few suggestions of where you can go:

Castillo del Buen Amor (Salamanca):

Just 15 miles away from Salamanca you will find the Castillo del Buen Amor, a medieval castle converted into a luxurious hotel. It is a place full of legend in a beautiful setting. Here you will be made to feel like true royalty.

Parque del Retiro (Madrid)

This garden right in the heart of Madrid , which in the past was used as a place of relaxation by Spanish royals, is a popular location for couples to go for walks and picnics. On its lake you can enjoy a romantic boat trip, a beautiful way to share your love whilst reciting Spanish love poems.

Valle de Carriedo (30 miles from Santander)

The province of Cantabria is famous for its abundance of valleys and forests which form its verdant landscape. One of these valleys is the Valle de Carriedo. A walk through its villages will allow you to enjoy the tranquillity and fresh air and experience its fine past. Houses, towers and palaces provide evidence of its noble history, like the Palacio de Soñanes, which nowadays functions a luxury hotel.

Monasterio de Piedra (Zaragoza)

The Monasterio de Piedra is a Cistercian monastery from the 11th Century hidden in a beautiful national park. The Monasterio contains a hotel, museums, and provides guided tours through the abbey. If you want to enjoy the natural surroundings you can go hiking through the national park and visit its waterfall and caves, they will not disappoint!

Café del Mar (Ibiza)

In San Antonio, Ibiza, you will find one of the the island's most famous locations: Café del Mar. People come here to witness the beautiful sunsets and to listen to chill out music which is said to have been invented here. Every year since 1994 Café del Mar creates new mixes to showcase the genre they helped to create.

San Sebastián

Close to the border with France in the Basque country sits the noble and beautiful city of San Sebastián. Take your partner's hand and go for a stroll along la Playa de la Concha or lose yourself in its streets whilst sampling the wonderful pinchos among the other fantastic local cuisines. It is no wonder that over the years San Sebastián has been the chosen holiday destination of many Spanish royals.

Granada

This is the jewel of Andalusia. Imagine yourself as an Arab Prince in search of his Princess… In Granada the only thing you will be missing is a magic carpet. Its Arabic palaces, winding streets, old quarters and passionate Flamenco will only strengthen your love for one another.

Cuevas del Drach (Mallorca, Balearic Islands)

The Cuevas are a unique natural phenomenon. These gigantic caves situated on the Island of Mallorca are full of stalactites that make nature seem more like grand architecture. Enjoy a small concert and a spectacular lightshow as rays of light reflect off the underground lake. Afterwards, relax on a boat trip whilst admiring the inner workings of the caves.

Playa de las Catedrales (Lugo)

The “Beach of Cathedrals” gets its name from the vast rock formations that rise up to 30 metres high and resemble the columns in a gothic cathedral. A walk along this beach hand in hand with your partner in the late afternoon sun is an unforgettable experience.

Formentera (Balearic Islands)

This is a small island in the Mediterranean close to Ibiza. Its beaches were chosen as the set for the film “Sex and Lucia” in which Spanish actress Paz Vega plays the main character. Experience the true Mediterranean with your love on one of its many beaches. We can assure you, you will never have seen a sea like this before.
