SMURF Village in Spain!

by Kimberly

The smurfs are taking over Spain! Well, more like a small town near Malaga (Andalusia - southern Spain) called Júzcar.  The city became the first Smurf village on Thursday morning when it debuted its freshly blue painted buildings.

The village was chosen by Sony Studios to host the premiere of the new animated Smurfs 3D film. To promote the film, they painted the village blue!!!  Sony hired painters who used over 1,000 gallons of paint (4,000 liters) to paint Júzcar's traditionally white facades blue so that they look like smurf houses. They even got many of the locals to dress up as smurfs!

Add this attraction to the beautiful Moorish architecture, famous sherry wine, traditional flamenco and beautiful sunny beaches and you have yet another great reason to visit the Costa del Sol (Sun Coast) region of Spain this summer.

You need to hurry and come to Spain this summer to see the village because in September Sony will repaint the village white.

The movie premieres on July 29th to US audiences.

Wow! It seems so exciting. But for the non Spanish speakers I would recommend a Spanish guide that could help them with any communication problem that they may face while their visit to Spain. *LINK REMOVED BY EDITOR*
