Messi and Ronaldo to feature on GQ cover
by Lindsay CookThe famous Spanish footballers Messi and Ronaldo will both feature on the cover of April´s edition of the men’s magazine GQ. April will be an important month for the players who will face each other once again in the important match between F.C. Barcelona and Real Madrid, known as the classic, which sees these two football rivals come head to head.
The two photos portray the players very differently. Messi comes across more seriously, wearing a suit. He also looks like more of a good boy, adopting a relaxed pose with his hands in his pockets. Ronaldo however looks like he has more of an attitude in his picture as he has his arms crossed. These portrayals of the football players also reflect their personality differences. Ronaldo is known to be more of a loudmouth whilst Messi has more of an angelic image.
The April edition of GQ will have two covers, so sellers of the magazine will have to choose whose face they want to display! This issue of GQ will no doubt help to build anticipation of the classic, the articles is titled “The duel of the century!” Barcelona and Real Madrid will next play each other on the 17th April. When they last came head to head in November 2010 Barcelona won spectacularly 5 -0.
This time the match will be held in Madrid and anticipation is already building. The tickets are on sale and there is no doubt that the match will be hugely exciting. It is a chance for the Real Madrid players to regain their pride after their defeat in November, and a chance for Barcelona to demonstrate their superiority once more!
Whilst the players may appear together on the cover of GQ there is no doubt that in reality there is a huge rivalry between the two teams and the two players!
