PRÍNCIPE O PRINCESA - PRINCE OR PRINCESS

Esta es la pregunta que todos los españoles nos hicimos ante el anuncio oficial del embarazo de la Princesa de Asturias.

Sólo el heredero al trono recibe el título de "príncipe", mientras que sus hermanos son " infantes o infantas". Si es un niño, éste pasa a ser el futuro heredero pero si es una niña, es necesaria una reforma de la Constitución, puesto que en España, de momento, prevalecen los derechos del varón sobre la hembra.

Ahora la genética jugará al azar pero la reforma de nuestra Carta Magna está en el aire.

Only the heir to the throne helds the title of "principe", while his brothers and sisters are "infantes o infantas".

If the Princess' child is a boy he will become the future heir to the throne but if it is a girl, she will not be consider the heir unless the the Spanish Constitution is reviewed and amended. Something which is currently being considered by the present Spanish government.
