Tomato wars: Tomatina Festival in Valencia

by Paqui

You are still on time to participate in the tomato battle of Buñol, in Valencia

Every year, the village of Buñol hosts La Tomatina, the world's largest vegetable fight, where around 20.000 people throw tomatoes to each other. Besides the tomato battle, the town is also filled with parades, fireworks, food and street parties, not to be missed!

The website for information on the Tomatina, has not been updated since last year and still reflects the schedule for 2004. i mistakenly planned to go to it based upon those dates only to learn recently that the festival is always held on the last Wednesday of the month of August, which in this year is August 31st, the day I am flying home. So read carefully…

Upsss! Sorry!
You are right, the "news" section of that web has information for 2004, which is quite weird, cause if you go to the section "Buñol" (this is the name of the village for Tomatina festival) this takes you to a website last updated on august 2005, so this one will be right.
I suppose it is difficult to keep websites correctly updated, and even so… I think that this is the most "official" site for Tomatina, but anyway…
Sorry again.
